WALDHAUSEN COMFORT Rain fly cover images
The WALDHAUSEN COMFORT fly rug protects your horse in the pasture from two key factors: insects and sudden showers. For your horse, this means fewer bites, less itching and calmer behavior in the warmer months.
The most important thing to look out for: this rug combines an insect barrier with water-repellent back protection. In practice, whether in the saddle or in the meadow, it's this duo that provides the greatest comfort on a daily basis.

Thewater-repellent back insert limits water penetration during showers: your horse stays protected on his back, the area that cools down quickly when the rain sets in. The breathable mesh fabric lets air circulate: heat is evacuated, even when the weather turns heavy.
A good choice if your horse reacts badly to insects or weather changes. What really changes on the track is that your horse is less distracted by bites and more available.
Attachment rings allow you to add a matching neck cover to extend protection. The neck, ears and muzzle remain covered, where flies are most likely to land.
In practical terms, this configuration creates a more homogeneous barrier for your horse. What the data sheet doesn't say is that this continuity of protection really does limit annoyance in the pasture.
In the saddle, it's easy to notice when a blanket turns or moves back. In this case, the stability of the whole system means you don't have to put the blanket back on again and again every day.
The highly breathable mesh fabric helps to keep the skin surface dry. For your horse, this means less overheating under the blanket on hot days.
Ideal for summer grazing, especially if your horse has reactive skin. The most important thing to consider is the balance between external protection and thermal comfort.
During the warmer months, this blanket helps your horse to enjoy his days outside. It forms a barrier against insects, while keeping the back more sheltered during a passing shower.
In practical terms, for your horse in the pasture, this means less agitation and less scratching. I prefer this type of model when you need to cover for a long time without trapping the heat.
To complete head protection, a matching fly mask is a good option. Same logic as for body protection: a physical barrier against insects, without adding any product to the skin.
What the technical data sheet doesn't say is how it will hold up over time. The Triplex closure inspires confidence over a full season, and the polyester is easy to wash without complicated maintenance.
