Stirrups and Leathers

Stirrups and stirrup leathers are essential accessories for horse riding, but they must be chosen carefully.  Stirrup leathers come in different sizes, materials and types. For jumping, for example, riders use simple or wide stirrup leathers made of leather, synthetic material or fabric. For dressage, riders like to use simple stirrup leathers that are attached at the ankle.  Stirrups are also available in different types depending on the discipline and the rider's taste. Some stirrups are very light, while others weigh more and keep the foot down.  Today, new safety technologies have been applied to the stirrups. They open during the fall to prevent the rider's foot from getting stuck.
