PHARMAKAS Hypofekt: the maintenance spray for your closures

Pharmakas® Hypofekt cleans and maintains with a long-lasting effect. This means that your horse, riding boots, shoes, bags and clothing remain reliable season after season. It won't grease or dirty leather or textiles: what really changes on the track is a zipper that slides effortlessly, leaving no residue on your hands.

This spray is suitable for both metal and plastic zippers. It also works on buckles and snap hooks on straps and blankets. A must if your equipment regularly works in dust, sand or outdoor humidity.

Why should you regularly maintain your zippers?

The most important thing to look for is that a zipper that jams is often the result of progressive soiling. Sand, dust and textile fibers accumulate on the teeth of the zipper: the slider forces, slows down, then sometimes jams.

In fact, regular maintenance reduces premature wear on your boots. Simple cleaning, followed by appropriate lubrication, costs very little. Replacing a pair of boots represents a much higher budget.

How to use Hypofekt spray

• Remove coarse dirt from the closure by hand or with a dry cloth
• Spray directly onto zipper and slider
• Leave to act for a few moments
• Open and close the zipper several times to distribute the product
• Wipe off excess with a clean cloth

This simple gesture restores the fluidity of the zipper. Use before each season or as soon as slight resistance appears.

Tips and tricks to preserve your zippers

What the data sheet doesn't say: preventive maintenance works better than emergency repairs. If you ride often, a monthly cleaning is usually sufficient. Remember also to check the slider before visible wear interferes with opening.

To make your equipment last, I recommend Hypofekt as a preventive measure. You can also apply a protective wax to the seams after cleaning. Same logic as for fetlock protection: protect before weakness appears.

Between sessions, keep your boots in a dry place: this limits oxidation of the metal fastenings. In practical terms, this saves you time at the stable, and avoids stubborn fastenings when saddling or fitting your boots.

In fact, both in the saddle and at the stable, a fluid fastener provides comfort and prevents forced handling. This little care clearly extends the life of your equipment.
