ESC Crème solaire protectrice Cheval Coco Protect
Sun care adapted to horse skin. Natural formula: coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax and zinc oxide. Sun protection. 250 ml jar.
Natural formula to protect the horse's skin
Coco Protect is a natural sun cream designed for sensitive areas of the horse's skin exposed to the sun. In concrete terms for your horse: nostrils, eye contour, barnacles and white marks are better protected during outings, in the paddock or in the meadow.
The formula combines a number of ingredients renowned for their barrier effect and skincare benefits:
- Coconut oil: nourishes the skin and limits dryness
- Shea butter: soothes fragile areas
- Beeswax: forms a film that slows dehydration
- Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide: immediate mineral protection against the sun
Coconut oil: skin nourishment and suppleness
Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids, vitamins and phytosterols, leaving skin suppler and less tight after exposure. In fact, in the saddle or in the meadow, it's a real plus for fine areas that dry out quickly.
Its vitamin E content provides an antioxidant effect, while vitamin A supports skin hydration. What the technical data sheet doesn't say: better nourished skin often tolerates repeated exposure better.
Shea butter and beeswax: care for sensitive areas
Shea butter naturally contains vitamins and phytosterols: it helps soothe minor irritations caused by rubbing or sun exposure. Ideal for horses with reactive skin on lightly-haired areas.
Beeswax limits water loss and leaves a protective film on the surface: exposed areas remain more comfortable throughout the day. The same logic applies as for fetlock protection: we're looking for a useful barrier, without aggressing the skin.
Mineral protection: zinc oxide and titanium dioxide
Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are mineral filters: they act as soon as they are applied, reflecting part of the sun's rays. What really makes a difference on the runway is rapid protection for areas that burn easily.
This mineral action helps limit sunburn during prolonged exposure. I prefer this type of formula when the horse lives outdoors for long periods or has large white marks.
Practical use for your horse
What to look for first: the cream is most useful on the nostrils, around the eyes, on the barnacles and all pink or lightly pigmented areas. These are the areas that mark most quickly in the sun.
It's particularly suitable in summer, when you're out in the meadows or on very bright days. 250 ml jar: a practical format for following the season on targeted areas.
